The heart behind Salt & House

A quiet space for those learning to follow Jesus — one faithful step at a time.

Salt & House began out of a simple longing: to follow Jesus more closely, and to help others do the same.

We live in a noisy, striving world that tells us life is found by becoming more of ourselves: more successful, more admired, more in control. Jesus offers something different, and better — a narrow gate that looks at first like loss, and turns out to be life. Salt & House exists to help us walk through it, and to keep walking.

Here, transformation is not about self-improvement. It is about becoming more like Christ — learning to see beautifully, listen deeply, and walk faithfully with Him, in life and in work.

Scripture-inspired art to help you see, devotionals and simple practices to help you listen, and honest writing about following Jesus in the ordinary places of life and work. Nothing here is meant to add to the noise. It is meant to help you slow down, turn towards Jesus, and take the next faithful step.

What we believe

Salt & House is Christ-centred and rooted in the historic Christian faith. We believe in one God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that Jesus Christ is Lord, crucified and risen, the way to the Father; that we are saved by grace through faith, and not by our own striving; that Scripture is God's living Word, able to form and transform us; and that the Holy Spirit is at work within us, making us more like Christ.

Above all, we believe the Christian life is not merely something to believe, but Someone to follow.

The name

Both words are drawn from the Sermon on the Mount, where the narrow gate is found. Jesus calls His followers the salt of the earth (Matthew 5) — a people whose lives quietly carry His flavour into the world. And He speaks of the wise one who builds a house upon the rock (Matthew 7) by hearing His words and putting them into practice.

Salt and house: a life that is both distinct and well-founded — seasoned by grace, and built on the words of Jesus.
